Ed Habetz had been racing in The Great Race for some years with one of my bodies on a very modified Model A chassis, when he called me to build him a ready-to-race, painted and upholstered car. I suicided an A frame on the front and "Z"-d the rear and used a Ron Kelly engine and an overdrive. Ed knew exactly what he wanted and was very clear about it. This car was built around Ed's tall and muscular size, so its scale was a little different. A clue to its variance from my somewhat standard dimensions is the blisters in the doors to clear the widened roll bar down tubes and the lengthened cockpit. My son Stuart and I had a great adventure delivering the car to the Louisiana coast and riding in the car with Ed driving!
